Sounds interesting. I would’ve loved to have been a beta tester.

2 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:37 by anony mouse

First

Looks like a great service Thanks for the free invite =D

3 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:47 by consuminghatred

Well, I just tried it on an episode from one of my favorite TV shows and it works flawlessly.

I wish I could support the website when it leaves the beta stage.

4 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:47 by Sean

any idea if it will work with private trackers?
I doubt it would

5 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:48 by noname

Thanks torrentfreak and put.io!

about 5 mins ago there was 181 invites left

just fed it a 700mb torrent from eztv and it downloaded to there server in 1min 30 seconds! pretty quick

downloading to my pc now but at a much slower rate, 150kbps :-(

seems like could be a good service though, depending on price

6 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:49 by Ninja

O wow!!! It works!!

Awesome site! I would pay for it, specially to use as a seedbox and get more online space. AWESOME!!!

7 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:51 by yosh

This is really nice!

8 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:53 by \\.neo.styles|sSG

This looks neat… I can see this having great potential for legal files. For most HD DVD-rips, you would need immense bandwidth, which is why I can see this leaning away from the illegal side of torrents, but I guess we’ll see…

9 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:55 by Rabbit80

downloaded 700Mb in just over 1 min to their servers – now transferring to my own PC at around 800Kb/s..

Little worried by their privacy policy, DCMA takedowns and the fact i have just subscribed to marketing email though :(

10 Dec 09, 2009 at 00:56 by Sam

OMG FAST DOWNLOADS!! This looks awesome, thanks for the invite.

You Ppl are going to get spoiled and then when it comes time to pay yer gonna get pissed, LoL

13 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:02 by bkm

Cheers, this looks really promising!

14 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:02 by bootytape.com

i’m testing it now with a torrent freak episode from mininova and it’s looking good. The streaming is a little slow but it’s understandable.

15 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:02 by Burt

Their server seems to be located in the Netherlands…bold move nowadays…
Fun to see how they leech a file from you in Bittorrent when you’ve just uploaded the torrent to their site.
Thanks for the Invite,
Cheers

16 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:03 by Hicks

Man that is sweet. Just downloaded the latest simpsons in a couple of minutes and then streamed it straight from their site.

Gonna check the privacy policy though.

17 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:04 by Cynthia

All 200 slots are gone.

18 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:05 by deviant

Seems to work with private trackers ok, although I probably wouldn’t trust it to seed back very well

21 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:10 by Bugnot

it does not work on a private tracker

22 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:11 by Guilherme

Awesome service. Downloading tons of HD files. It takes only 20 minutes to download 8 gigs!

23 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:13 by deviant

@Bugnot – it does work on private trackers if you upload the torrent manually, it won’t accept the tracker URL though if you’re attempting that

24 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:23 by Bugnot

how do i try it on ipt? or immortalseed?

25 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:24 by nah in bmore

Im late. Though, besides it being able to stream content I dont see how this is any diff from a seedbox.

26 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:29 by deviant

It’s free. Although it uses the 1.8 Beta version of Transmission, so it may be banned from some trackers. Just a heads up.

27 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:29 by tophing

Thanks \o/

29 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:45 by Anonymous

Dang, I saw this and went ‘hold on i’ll read it in a minute’ and read it 10 minutes later… probably could have gotten in if I wasn’t busy.

30 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:49 by Monty

Well I wanted to try this service, and I am 1 of the lucky 200, however for me as a totally blind user that relies on text to speech in order to use my computer, I find the site very inaccessible. Oh I can log in, and I can even see a few of the options like move to basket or delete, and I can find the link that says fetch URL, but there is no edit field for me to type in the URL, at least not one that’s visible to my screen reader software. I cannot therefore proceed beyond this point. Can they make a page that’s not so flash based, as I’m assuming that’s the issue I’m having here. That may even help there resources a bit. I like what this site might be able to offer, but I can’t provide feedback if I can’t use the site. Please make regular HTML type buttons that are non-flash with normal form type edit fields, so that us blind users that can’t fully use flash can still make full use of this possibly awesome service? Again right now I can’t even find a place to type in a URL. Oh yeah and allow all browsers to use the site, not just firefox, please?

31 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:49 by Empty handed

That won’t last long and won’t be surprised if personal datas are stored ready to be shared with the MAFIAA

32 Dec 09, 2009 at 01:57 by Burt

@30 Monty
They do have a feedback button on their mainpage which takes you to a forum where you might be able to raise this issue (http://putio.uservoice.com/pages/26949)

33 Dec 09, 2009 at 02:06 by A

it’s getting slow right now i think it’s because of the torrentfreak users :)))

34 Dec 09, 2009 at 02:13 by Truther

Could be VERY useful for downloading torrents when you’re on the go. Queue up a torrent, let it download to the site, then when you are back home, download from the site.

Can’t wait for the full release!

35 Dec 09, 2009 at 02:43 by ptsick

too late..

36 Dec 09, 2009 at 02:55 by chevron

If they don’t give back to swarms equally, expect their IPs to be added to a blocklist or three pretty sharpish :) Any info?

37 Dec 09, 2009 at 03:02 by WOWOW!

tested it will a couple of films did it in seconds. decided to try it out on something bigger… like 8gigs, OMG! It did it in 3mins! 3mins to download 8gigs!!! Thats sooo fast!1

The only annoying thing is that it will take me 1hr 30 to download from there server and thats going at my max bandwidth. I let my mate with 50mbs connection try it out and it maxed his too. There servers are very fast! I have never seen servers run so fast for so long normally they go fast for 1min then go slow but these are always super fast fast fast!

38 Dec 09, 2009 at 03:18 by Emilio

@2 fail

39 Dec 09, 2009 at 03:20 by chris

Damn im too late!

41 Dec 09, 2009 at 03:49 by anonymous

Looks good so far for DL speeds on torrents. Files from their site to home may be slow temp wise due to massive usage.

Concerns are for private sites that use passkeys. Normally, only the user and admins @ tracker can see/know your passkey. It is NEVER to be shared. Guess what ? By using this new fast site….you now made it available to anyone :)
Would be a shame if that passkey got leaked out and somebody used it to DL a 150 GB movie pack under your accounts passkey….there goes your ratio :)

42 Dec 09, 2009 at 05:16 by JaKXz

I assume its too late to get a private beta invite? If that’s not the case then I’m all ears.

Either way, looks pretty cool.. nd pretty expensive..

43 Dec 09, 2009 at 05:31 by Amanda Hugginkiss

@ 41

Step 1: Offer free Seedbox hosting

Step 2: Log user information and uploaded content from private trackers with user names, passwords, and passkeys.

Step: 3: ???????

Step 4: Profit!!!

44 Dec 09, 2009 at 06:12 by Monty

I got the site to work, though I had to click on upload to your computer and then fetch URL, which was odd but it worked. Tried it with 2 flavors of my favorite linux distro Ubuntu, the 32 and 64 bit versions, and umm wow literally less than 30 seconds, no… more like less than 15 seconds for 690MB of data! Holy god. Of course being here in the United States my download speed from them won’t be that great but just seeing the potential there, uhh just wow! They truly are gigabit capable! I’ve never seen files download so fast, uhh ever!

Sounds good for the speed according to some of the users posts. Altough I won’t be visiting this site once it’s out of beta. The monthly fee killed it for me….

58 Dec 09, 2009 at 08:52 by Det

I found a slow torrent to download – it is showing average dl of around 70Kb/s and uploading at over 300Kb/s!

No support for magnet links :(

66 Dec 09, 2009 at 12:21 by Det

@???
Although @ac is a bit ‘broken’ in the head, there’s no reason to block these services if they are seeding 1:1.

67 Dec 09, 2009 at 12:52 by AnarchyNow

It’ll be soon owned by the MAFIAA, and a seedbox is way better since you have total control.

68 Dec 09, 2009 at 13:28 by rollinginsanity

Nice.

I don’t have a problem with piracy , I just have a problem from profiting from it, and it seems that these guys would be aware of the fact that this service would be used for piracy, and making money off the users who will subscribe. I dunno, maybe there is a way to justify it, I just can’t see it…

69 Dec 09, 2009 at 14:04 by ac

my text was spaced that way b/c I didn’t want it to be cen sored.

Also to the person who had the 8gb file how is that possible when it says “There’s a 4G limit on any single file.” ?

Maybe you downloaded several files for a total of 8 gigs altogether?

70 Dec 09, 2009 at 14:06 by superman

@59…

It’s probably more likely speeds reached on a private tracker, It’s very achievable on high up trackers, and people stop begging for invites! It’s so fucking annoying!

How can we get some invites?

78 Dec 09, 2009 at 16:49 by samuel

So does this site guarantee privacy? that your information won’t be shared? That they do not log information? What makes this any safer than using peerblock? If they get a takedown notice or any other legal communication won’t they just roll over and hand them your direct personal info via any paypal or creditcard or egold account you use to pay?

I see no point in paying for such a service unless it guarantees protection, privacy, and that they don’t log the info. Totally Anonymous torrent and rapidshare access might be worth a small fee.

79 Dec 09, 2009 at 16:54 by drjo

It looks like they offer no form of privacy protection and actively log your IP and other personal information to hand over to any entity that files an infringement complaint against them. Really doesn’t appear to be any reason to utilize such a service, or perhaps to utilize it with an anonymous VPN or proxy setup.

80 Dec 09, 2009 at 16:55 by JIMMYLEE

I want a invite too

81 Dec 09, 2009 at 17:40 by Xcel

Well I finally got around to trying it out…a few cool things about it, especially the “Streaming” feature…your not really downloading it to your computer that way so it opens up another avenue for argument on CP infringement…

But, as for DLing to your PC…takes as long or longer than it would just to grab the torrent, I see no benefit to it if you want the file on your ‘puter….

It will be interesting to see how long the service does last….

82 Dec 09, 2009 at 17:59 by darkstar

83 Dec 09, 2009 at 18:24 by WOWOW!

@69

Where does it say 4gig limit?

The file i downloaded that was 8gigs was an .iso file so I dont know if that changes anything.

A few downsides are that on larger torrents (other than the 8gig one it did super quick) the seeders themselves are very slow like atmo I am downloading a 13gig .iso and it is seeding the file at a constant 2000-3000kbs while it is only downloading at 50-800kbs to the put.io sever.

It is still a lot faster because I dont have to have my computer on all the time and when the file does finish I can download it from them at max speed. Instead of having to leave my computer on and it to go really slow.

84 Dec 09, 2009 at 18:26 by WOWOW!

the Put.io server will have seeded the torrent at a 1-5 ratio by the time it is finished.

I think that is fair

89 Dec 09, 2009 at 21:13 by zedi

@81 after you are logged in on put.io

on add torrent button after you have clicked it” * You can add direct links, links to torrent files, links to multiple rapidshare archives . Even text mixed with HTML. We’ll pick out the links.
* Please add rapidshare archive links with multiple parts all at once. Adding separately prevents us from extracting them.
* There’s a 4G limit on any single file.
* We will not extract archives containing more than 500 files. It fries our machines.
* We support some private trackers, but sometimes you have to download the torrent file and upload it to put.io for it to work.
* Also be cautious with private trackers. Because we’re actively trying to optimize our torrent clients, we start and stop them a lot. This might cause underseeding.

It’s working wonders for me, seriously I would pay for that kind of service with my eyes closed, if added more functionality. I mean, it’s no mystery upload speeds SUCK across the globe (usually less than 20% of the download speed IF YOU ARE LUCKY).

Great initiative for sure.

err just take an old computer, install linux + torrentclientofyourchoice with webinterface .. use some dyndns service, setup port forwarding .. done .. its the same .. for free ;)

personally i don’t think i need anything faster then the 4-5mb/s download i have at home (tvtorrents, tl etc)

95 Dec 10, 2009 at 01:01 by Bugnot

works for me. now i’mm seeding my own torrent to a public tracker. though i wouldn’t dare anymore of using it for ipt and immortalseed.

btw, i was the 177th registrant!

96 Dec 10, 2009 at 01:08 by Rabbit80

@92 – No, its not the same for me – here’s why…

My ISP throttles all torrent traffic, especially at peak times. They do not throttle HTTP traffic. So- bittorrent at home = 5Kb/s max… put.io = 800Kb/s (traffic from them 2 me)

Also, a service like put.io is greener, and whilst it is free saves me money.

97 Dec 10, 2009 at 06:16 by Bugnot

so far so good. slow may be because of torrent freak users but i’m definitely interested for the paid version.

Put-To-Call Ratio And The Probability Of A Downturn

By Bill Luby on December 11, 2009 | More Posts By Bill Luby | Author's Website

In the last day or two I have been fielded several questions about put to call ratios. It seems as if some investors are concerned that there is a stealth movement by sophisticated investors who are making substantial bets on a downward move with large purchases of puts. Invariably, these concerns have led to questions about what I see in the put to call ratios that will confirm or deny this.

To quickly recap, the CBOE publishes three put to call ratios. In my preferred charting site, StockCharts.com, these are known as:

  • $CPCE - the ticker for the equity put to call ratio
  • $CPCI - the ticker for the index put to call ticker
  • $CPC - the ticker for the total equity + index data

For reasons I have discussed in the past, I prefer the CPCE ratio and use this as a contrarian signal. The problem with the CPCI data is that institutional order flow for index options tends to come in large chunks that can create misleading short-term signals.

Recently, however, the CPCE, CPCI and CPC have all had very similar looking charts. I have reproduced the six month chart of CPCE below and it shows no unusual spikes in put activity relative to call activity. If anything, the 10 day EMA that I use to smooth the sometimes noisy CPCE data shows an almost eerie flat line for the past month or so, just as was the case when I last wrote about put to call ratios when in Equity Put to Call Ratio Not Pointing to a Correction when the Dubai debt crisis hit.

If you are new to candle making, you may benefit from taking a candle making course. Unlike learning how to make candles on your own, a candle making course can present you with information about many different aspects of candle making at once without long hours of personal research. If you are serious about candle making, it can be easier and faster for you to learn about the craft in a candle making course.

There are many types of candle making courses and you can find a course that will guide you through candle making in history, candle types, wax types, wick types, equipment, supplies and even starting a candle making business. Many experienced candle makers are willing to share with you, in a candle making course, the knowledge that they have gained from years of experience.

Different Skill And Experience Level Courses

You can find a candle making course for your skill level whether you are a beginner or have intermediate or expert skills with candle making. If you are familiar with basic candle making, you can also find a candle making course that will teach you techniques that are suited to your more skilled level. Assess your skill and experience levels when you are considering which candle making course to take.

Materials, Supplies and Techniques

You can find candle making courses that focus on the use of beeswax in candles or you can find a general course that will compare the different waxes used in candle making so that you can decide on which wax you want to use for candle making.
